Plain terms for a plain tool.

A drafting assistant, not the evaluator.

AUTOMATA reads score reports and records you supply and drafts tables, graphs, narrative, and recommendations. You remain the evaluator. Every report AUTOMATA produces must be reviewed, corrected where needed, and signed by a qualified professional before it is used. AUTOMATA does not diagnose, determine eligibility, or replace professional judgment, and its output is not medical, psychological, legal, or educational advice.

One person, one sign-in.

You sign in with your own Google account. A Practitioner subscription is for one evaluator; a Practice subscription covers the number of evaluators stated on the pricing page. Do not share your sign-in. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your Google account secure.

Cancel any time.

• Plans and prices are listed on the pricing page and may change with notice; a change never applies mid-term to a period you have already paid for.
• Subscriptions renew until you cancel. Cancel any time; access continues to the end of the paid period. Payments already made are not refunded except where the law requires it or we say otherwise in writing.
• Access is switched on for the email on your subscription. If a payment fails or a subscription lapses, the members area closes until it is current again.
• Reports you have exported are yours to keep, subscribed or not.

Your files, your rules.

• Student records stay on your computer and in your own Google accounts; we do not receive or store them (see the Privacy Policy).
• You are responsible for using AUTOMATA in line with the laws and policies that apply to you — including FERPA, state student-privacy laws, and your district's or practice's rules — and for having any consent your setting requires.
• Use AUTOMATA only for lawful, professional purposes. Do not attempt to break into, overload, or copy the service, and do not resell access.

What's yours, what's ours.

The reports you produce with AUTOMATA are yours. AUTOMATA itself — its software, templates, wording banks, designs, and the AUTOMATA name and marks — belongs to us and is licensed to you for your use while subscribed, not sold. Sample reports on this site are fictional and for illustration only.

Kept running, in good faith.

• We work to keep AUTOMATA available and accurate, but it is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent the law allows.
• Features may be added, changed, or retired. Anything that changes how your data is handled is announced on the members page first.
• We may suspend or end an account that breaks these terms. You may stop using the service at any time.

The honest boundary.

Because you review and sign every report, we are not responsible for decisions made from a report, for errors in source documents you supply, or for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

Law, notice, changes.

• These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, and disputes are handled in the courts of Kern County, California, unless the law gives you a different right.
• If one part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.
• When these terms change, the date at the top changes; continued use after that date means you accept the new terms.
